The Resplendent Quetzal is one of those birds that feels almost unreal when you first see it. Emerald-green feathers, a blood-red chest, and a long, flowing tail that looks like something out of a fantasy novel.
Its feathers change colour with the light -Its plumage can shimmer between green, gold and blue. This is called iridescence — the feather structure interacts with light to create shifting colours. The effect makes the bird look almost metallic.❤️
